DENALI DREAMS SOAP CO.

Factory Store Remodel | Anchorage, AK

Denali Dreams Soap Co. is a local family owned business making quality handcrafted products that are distributed throughout Alaska and beyond.  This thriving small business recently purchased a new building in the Spenard neighborhood of Anchorage with the goals of improving transparency in their manufacturing process, increasing staff and customer interaction and drawing in more foot traffic.  One way we approached these goals was through the design of a vibrant mural wall of the Alaska Range that stretches almost the entire length of the building.  This striking backdrop is intended to draw visitors into the space where they can engage with staff members and learn about the soap-making process. The mountainscape stands proud from the wall and is backlit to enhance the iconic alpenglow skyline that is loved by Alaska residents and visitors alike.  The wall features large diameter porthole windows, a playful nod to soap bubbles, which allow visitors to peek behind the scenes into the production kitchen and also serve to help kitchen staff feel more connected to the rest of the operation.  The scale and prominence of the mural wall is also able to be appreciated from the exterior of the building where it is visible all along the shopfront windows, which may directly serve the goal of drawing in more foot traffic.  We hope this design inspires a sense of adventure, wonder and curiosity—we welcome you to stop by and say hello to the team at Denali Dreams Soap Co.
